Colourful Tailoring: Orange Suits Conquer Celebrity Styles
Celebrities like Lily Collins were seen parading with models of tailored suits in orange, which we forsee dominate the coming seasons.
After years of dominating neutral tones, it seems that orange is the hottest colour of the season.
With the approach of summer in the Northern Hemisphere, celebrities such as Blake Lively and Lily Collins have bet on orange to get closer to the colours of the season, without leaving tradition and elegance aside.
Recently, Blake crossed the streets of New York with a model of flare pants in conjunction with the blazer in the same tone. To create the monochromatic look, she paired the pantsuit with an orange blouse and belt. Lily was also seen wearing a tailored suit of straight pants and a V-neck blazer. The burst of vibrant orange found balance with heels and a neutral-toned t-shirt.
Journalist Steph McGovern also walked the Bafta carpet in an orange tailored suit and went for the dopamine fashion, complementing the look with a printed collar t-shirt, also in warm colours, and a pair of pink pumps.
Rebecca Wisocky stole the show during the premiere of the series 'Ghosts'. The orange tailored suit, with pumps and satin V-neck blouse, both in neon pink, drew attention to her in the best possible way.
Sandra Bullock also got daring with her fashion for the promotion of her new movie 'Lost City'. Instead of a full suit, the actress took advantage of the blazer and bet on casual pants in a more closed shade of orange, along with a braided body in red.
And, with the trend on the rise, tailored suits also dominated the catwalks. During their spring 2022 collection show, Stella McCartney showed off a super cool, light, spring pantsuit. The stylist bet on the lighter orange, joining an oversized blazer with looser pants up to the ankle. The neutral yellow and vibrant orange in the braided body (the same used by Sandra Bullock) and in the shoes complete the look.
The union of two historical pieces for women's fashion – the tailoring and the suit – has come full circle. The first has been a part of women's wardrobe since the 19th century and is known for its fit and elegance in its cut. The suit overcame the barrier of prejudice and became a symbol of women's empowerment – used by women in the suffragette movement in 1910, and expanded by Coco Chanel, considered by many to be the creator of the first female suit model.
Now, we expect to see 50 shades of orange continuing to dominate the coming seasons, with the tailored suit as the highlight in the wardrobe of celebrities and fashionistas around the world.
