With Coachella (Weekend Two), Glastonbury, We The Fest, and more coming up in the months to come, it's time to start planning your festival outfits. Here, we spotlight five trends from Coachella that we're sure we'll be seeing more of this festival season.

Boho Chic

Category is: Vanessa Hudgens at Coachella Core. Taking one from the Queen of Chella herself, models and influencers like Alessandra Ambrósio, Zoi Lerma, and Charli D'Amelio showed up in their best boho fits last weekend.

Styling is essential when recreating this trend. You'll need flowy materials, natural fabrics, knitted bralettes, warm neutrals with '70s accents, and accessories to match. The best part about nailing this style? There is no fixed way to do it. All you have to do is mix and match your clothing according to what looks best on your person and focus on colour-matching your neutrals.

New Utility

From L to R: Emma Chamberlain, Ashnikko, Dixie D'Amelio, and Stella Maxwell

Coachella saw new variations of workwear. Personalities like Emma Chamberlain, Ashnikko, Dixie D'Amelio, and Stella Maxwell all delved into the world of utility fashion, styled in their own unique ways. Chamberlain and Maxwell opted for a more straightforward form of the look, while Ashnikko and D'Amelio put their own spin on the trend – in subversive and street styles respectively.

To get the look, build your outfit around one statement piece of workwear – be it a bag, vest, or jumpsuit. Next, think of how you'd style it. We suggest creating a look with complementary colours to really give it that put-together look workwear is known for. Keep accessories to a minimum or opt for ones that add an edgier vibe to your fit.

Double Denim

Channel your inner JT and Britney with the double denim trend. The once-desecrated look has found its place in fashion once again, this time with a more favourable outlook by trend-goers.

When recreating the look, get denim pieces that match in texture, thickness and shade. As denim is a statement piece on its own, make sure to get sets that don't drown you in them. Complement the final look with minimal silver jewellery and you're good to go!

Leather Forever

This trend comes with a disclaimer: Wear leather at your own risk. Although these edgy pieces may look good, they're a pain to put on and remove – especially if you intend to spend all day at an outdoor festival in the summer. Overheating in your outfit may also occur as leather tends to cling to your skin and offer no room for it to breathe.

However, if you still wish to achieve the look, we suggest pairing a thin breathable top with a leather piece like Rosalía. This reduces the risk of heat exhaustion whilst you're out and about in the sun all day. If not, opt for something a little more revealing like MUNA's two-piece bralette and hot shorts set.

De-Influenced

From L to R: Kendall Jenner, Zoey Deutch, and Hailey Bieber

We're going back to basics. Celebrities like Kendall Jenner, Zoey Deutch, and Hailey Bieber have de-influenced their festival wear this year. These street-style looks offer festival go-ers the utmost comfort throughout the day, ensuring a good time without the worry of wardrobe malfunctions.

To make the style a little more elaborate, opt for statement gold accessories like Bieber's to really tie the casual chic look together.
