Stella McCartney Has Designed the First Leather-Free Stan Smith Sneakers
No matter what trends currently dominate the sneaker scene, one thing's for sure: a pair of Stan Smiths will never go out of style. That's probably why Stella McCartney didn't stray very much from its original design when she created the new Stella #stansmith, her very own version of the iconic Adidas trainers. The biggest difference that you probably won't notice? The shoes are made with vegetarian leather and non-animal-based glues.
Available for both men and women, the Stella #stansmith is the first of its kind to be created in collaboration with Adidas without using full-grain leather. Stella McCartney added her own personal touches to sneakers by replacing Adidas's signature three stripes at the sides of the shoes with her own stripes of stars. You'll also find the British designer's portrait and signature on the tongue of the right shoe, accompanying those of Stan Smith on the left.
The Stella #stansmith sneakers will drop in Stella McCartney stores worldwide on 10 September, but you can already pre-order a pair on the brand's website here (for women) and here (for men).
