Salvatore Ferragamo’s new Icon-Up collection is a sustainable fashionista’s dream

The Icon-Up collection uses products and materials recovered from the brand’s deadstock to reimagine classic designs.

Sustainability has slowly become more recognised as an ethos of the modern fashion world, and Salvatore Ferragamo wants in. With their new limited-edition collection, Icon-Up, the brand has come up with a selection of women’s shoes and belts made from their very own deadstock.

The release — which is a perfect blend of circular creativity and contemporary luxury — includes the iconic Vara and Varina shoes. The limited 300-piece capsule collection (Made in Italy, of course) is completely reimaged and manufactured by specialised local artisans and in-house Manovia artisans, the brand’s historic prototyping and manufacturing unit.

Even the Icon-Up collection's packaging – from the boxes to the dust bags to the tissue papers – are crafted from refashioned material. Every bit of the Icon-Up collection reflects Ferragamo’s brand heritage all while keeping to their mission towards a more responsible future for fashion.
