Newly-appointed Artistic Director of Burberry, Riccardo Tisci has announced he will be teaming up with British punk icon and legendary designer Vivienne Westwood and her longtime partner Andreas Kronthaler for a collaboration that no one saw coming.

"Vivienne was one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer," Tisci wrote in an announcement made to his Instagram. "I am SO honoured to announce a new Burbs collaboration with the original British PUNK."

Of course, he followed the sentiment with a fitting Union Jack emoji sandwiched between two black hearts.

During his time at Givenchy, Tisci's design aesthetic was widely influenced by musicians in the hip-hop and R&B cadre, and naturally, Westwood was the definitive image-maker of the ever-subversive Punk movement. To see these two sensibilities come together will surely be a sight to see.

We have no doubt the creative ménage à trois will bring something new and unexpected to an increasingly predictable fashion landscape, and for that, we are grateful.
