Out Now: L'Officiel Singapore's Sound of Summer Issue
With K-pop still dominating the world’s music charts (see: Blackpink’s single Kill this Love and BTS’ album Map of the Soul: Persona), it only makes sense that the cover star of our music issue is the electric South Korean DJ Peggy Gou.
“Peggy Gou is winning over the world like her contemporaries – by lighting up parties and festivals, becoming a veritable Instagram hit, and even launching her own fashion label after working regularly with houses like Louis Vuitton, which she happens to don on our cover,” says L’Officiel Singapore’s Editor-in-Chief, Ian Lee.
Speaking of electric, the issue’s pages are filled with musicians and music-inspired offerings. And there are plenty this season – having recently covered Gucci’s Zumi bag (named after Los Angeles-based experimental musician, Zumi Rosow) and Versace’s 2Chainz sneakers, we’re now grooving to the latter’s latest Jennifer Lopez-influenced Chain Reaction sneakers.
The sonic sensations of now – from Billie Eilish to Kacey Musgraves – have also left a big dent with their style, which gives rise to our shopping pages this month. The other on-theme personalities you’ll find in the issue: Zendaya with her Tommy Hilfiger collab, Susie Cave with her feminine dresses, and our local dapper rapper Mean.xs
Also expect a preview of Pre-fall 2019’s biggest and best – highlights of the debut collection from Bottega Veneta’s Daniel Lee, Givenchy’s major Mystic bag, Coach’s efforts to update Rexy by working with four contemporary Chinese artists, and more. Might we suggest: while you’re engrossing in the issue from end-to-end, it’s most appropriate to do so whilst putting some of your favourite sounds of summer on play.
