A Look at Onitsuka Tiger's CNY-Inspired MEXICO 66™ Sneakers
The Japanese fashion brand has released a new sneaker design in celebration of the Lunar New Year
New year, new kicks.
Japanese fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger has decked out its signature MEXICO 66™ sneakers with special details just in time for the upcoming Lunar New Year. The slim-cut shoe is iconic to the brand and is known for its debut at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico. Part of the house's Heritage series, the shoe is designed with elements taken from the 1960s archives and has since been favoured by many friends and fans of the house around the world.
Inspired by the rabbit (the zodiac of the year), the cream-coloured shoe now comes decorated with Onitsuka Tiger Stripes in faux fur and suede, with the year "2023" printed on its sock liner in red and white; the perfect shoe to pair with your trendy Lunar New Year ensembles and accompany you on your visits this January.
Packaged in a special edition box exclusive to the season, the brand also offers the same design in its kids’ MEXICO 66™ models. They are available in-store and online here.
