Off-White x Church's Captures Abloh's Legacy in A Brand New Collection
Off-White offers a modern twist to classic British designs in new Off-White ℅ Church’s genderless capsule footwear collection.
Having made its discreet debut on the runway at the Off-White “Spaceship Earth: an Imaginary Experience” during Paris Fashion Week, Church’s officially announces the arrival of the Off-White ℅ Church’s capsule footwear collection.
Personally designed by the late Virgil Abloh, the genderless capsule collection is true to Off-White’s seditious nature. The collaboration perfectly collapses the ethos central to Abloh’s “Question Everything” philosophy with the artisan tradition and stylistic history of the British footwear brand.
The collection includes the first drop in Abloh’s “remastering a classic” journey: The Burwood x Off-White. This drop perfectly celebrates Abloh’s obsession with reinterpreting classic designs by using new references that create an entirely new context for the piece without altering its true nature.
The Burwood x Off-White takes its name from Church’s Burwood style which dates back to 1953. The classic and distinctive full brogue oxford with dovetail patterning emerges with a brand new and refreshed identity. The conventional brown suede upper is replaced with black brushed calfskin and “Special Events” adorns the outside of the shoe in Off-White’s emblematic white font and style, as the brand’s signature script. The design wouldn’t be complete without Off-White’s trademark hangtag, underscoring the style’s shared origins.
On sale at Off-White stores, Church’s stores and on church-footwear.com, the Burwood x Off-White is the first of two Off-White ℅ Church’s drops.
