Louis Vuitton's Whimsical ArtyCapucines Collection Is Definitely Mixing Things Up
No stranger to artist collaborations, Louis Vuitton invited six international artists – Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Nicholas Hlobo, Alex Israel, Tschabalala Self, and Jonas Wood – to give its contemporary classic accessory, the structured Capucine bags, new life.
Israel’s, for instance, features a colour wave design using a multitude of pop hues, which required the house’s atelier to exercise precise colour dyeing. Fischer’s quirky and very memorable piece, on the other hand, dangles removable, hand-made “fruits” and “vegetables”. And then there are the mother-of-pearl details on Falls’ Capucines, the leather patterns of Hlobo’s and Tschabalala’s creations, and the 3D embroidery of Wood’s piece.
Each model has been released in a limited and numbered edition of 300.
