Louis Vuitton Heads to Seoul's Hangang River for Pre-Fall 2023 Show
The 29 April event will take place at the Jamsugyo bridge with Squid Game director, Hwang Dong-Hyuk as creative advisor of the show’s scenography
Louis Vuitton is gearing up for Nicolas Ghesquière’s first pre-fall runway show for the Maison — the display is set to take place on 29 April at the Jamsugyo bridge, which spans the Hangang River in Seoul. Fitting for the house's inaugural Pre-Fall show, it is the first time the double-decked bridge will open its doors to a fashion show. The event promises to be an inclusive cultural event, with invitations extended to 100 of South Korea's fashion students.
In the spirit of creative collaboration dear to Nicolas Ghesquière, Squid Game film director, Hwang Dong-Hyuk will be involved in the show scenography as a creative advisor. And in line with the Korea Tourism Organisation's 2023-2024 Visit Korea Year, the show will also start off of a series of cultural and environmental projects by Louis Vuitton, in partnership with Seoul Metropolitan City and the Korea Tourism Organisation, to promote South Korea.
“A cultural hub that continues to draw global attention, Seoul shares a common spirit with Louis Vuitton for pioneering the future, reimagining creativity and nurturing savoir-faire. Presenting the collection on the iconic Jamsugyo Bridge over the Hangang River beautifully captures Louis Vuitton’s long-standing relationship and shared values with this cosmopolitan city,” says Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton, Pietro Beccari.
