Loewe Brings Us Close to Paradise with a New Summer Anthem

Loewe wants to transport us back to the wild, heady nights of Ibiza in the '70s and '80s with the release of its new summer anthem, Close to Paradise.

Written and produced in collaboration with alt rock/electronic group Soulwax and curated by one of fashion’s most prolific soundtrack directors Michel Gaubert, Close to Paradise is an infectious seven-minute track narrated by four local characters, providing unique perspectives on the island’s esoteric allure. Loewe has long shared a connection with Ibiza – fostered by shared Spanish values and Creative Director Jonathan Anderson’s own childhood visits to the island.

The record was specially produced in celebration of Loewe's revival collection with Paula’s Ibiza Boutique and its third annual summer shop in the island’s Museu d’Art Contemporani (MACE). Accompanying the release of Close to Paradise is a 12-chapter digital publication featuring 12 iconic places and 16 prominent personalities – including legendary hotelier Tony Pike and a colourful cast of other Ibicencos – as they wax lyrical about their love affair with the Balearic island.
