Unique in Louis Vuitton’s storied collection of leather goods, the GO-14 is birthed with functionality, sophistication, and ingenuity in mind. The GO-14 is one of Nicolas Ghesquière’s first designs, first appearing on the runway in 2014 for the designer’s debut as the Women’s Artistic Direction of the House–hence the coded name: Ghesquière October 2014.

This year, it re-emerges with a new iteration: the malletage. The malletage stems from the House’s signature criss-crossed pattern elegantly padding the insides of their travel trunks, adorned with a beautiful galon trim that kept documents in place amidst travel. Bringing forth the spirit of historical trunk-making, Nicolas Ghesquière reveals this invisible luxury and transposes its function into a new setting–the GO-14.

Fashioned from smooth lambskin leather, the GO-14’s latest iteration is covered in the signature LV soft malletage stitched strategically to highlight the design’s curved and cushioned feel. Each bag goes through a meticulous creative process consisting of more than 20 different steps to precisely achieve the design’s color gradations and unique finish.

A tangible manifestation of the House’s complex savoir faire, the GO-14 is as versatile as it can be. It comes in different shades with a subtle toasted texture and can be worn over the shoulder, on the arm, and handheld thanks to its intricate malletage handle and chain.
