Jennifer Lopez And Coach Step Up Their Partnership With A Special Edition Handbag
Jennifer Lopez is a force unto herself. In 2020 alone, the superstar has headlined the Super Bowl Halftime Show, judged another season of World of Dance, teased the launch of her own beauty brand, released a steamy duet with Maluma, starred in a couple of fashion campaigns… And now, she’s stepping up her partnership with Coach by flexing her design skills on a snazzy new accessory, the Hutton. To be precise, the Coach x Jennifer Lopez Hutton bag.
Designed in tandem with Coach’s Stuart Vevers, this versatile, limited-edition style is created with multi-faceted, multi-hyphenate women in mind — just like Jenny from the Block herself. Boasting a classic silhouette in colourblock calf leather (bubblegum pink and burgundy) with a mottled snakeskin trim, the refreshed Hutton is supplemented by various internal and external pockets for enhanced practicality, and finished with a logo-embossed turnlock clasp, gold-tone studs and a special hangtag signed by J.Lo. An adjustable chain strap, meanwhile, adds to its hands-free, on-the-go appeal, allowing the bag to be worn over the shoulder, across the torso or looped around the waist as an update on the midriff floss trend.
“I really wanted the Jennifer Lopez Hutton to feel like, well me,” the singer, actress, dancer, philanthropist and entrepreneur explained. “Coach and I both come from New York, so we find our common ground in that big city look, reaching for things that are functional, fashionable, but also inspirational. Things that can keep up.”
The collaboration comes nearly a year after J.Lo was named an ambassador for and member of the Coach Family — although the affinity between the artist and the fashion house go way back. Among the many memories the pair share, Lopez recalls her mother Guadalupe carrying a Coach handbag when she was growing up, and she also chose the label’s monogrammed luggage as the guest star of her 2002 music video for “All I Have”.
