Jennie of Blackpink is a Water Goddess at The Met Gala 2024
This is the K-pop superstar's second appearance on the Met Gala red carpet.
Looks like eagled-eyed fans were right! After speculations that Jennie of Blackpink was on her way to New York for the Met, it turns out fans were right and the global K-pop superstar did not disappoint! Jennie showed up to the Met Gala 2024 green carpet (aligning with the theme of 'The Garden of Time') in a stunning custom Alaia ensemble in a vibrant, electric blue. As with any custom piece, the fit is immaculate with the rich blue fabric draped expertly around Jennie's body, accentuating all the right spots to create an alluring silhouette that conjures the image of a water goddess.
Jennie kept her look monochromatic for the night, sticking to the same shade of blue for her stiletto pumps, matching her Alaia minidress. To compliment her flowy ensemble complete with a mini train that looks like river, Jennie kept her jewellery simple with pearl earrings and a matching belly chain further adding to the imagery of water and the ocean.
On the beauty front, Jennie opted for an intricate, slicked-back bun, allowing no obstuction to witnessing the drapery of her event look. Her makeup look consisted of a clean, glowing complexion and a bold cat-eye liner, sprinkled with iridescent glitters that shifted blue. She finished her look with muted coral lips to let the eyes shine.
This isn't Jennie's first foray at the Met Gala. She first made her debut at the Met Gala red carpet in 2023 in vintage Chanel, no less! This is to be expected from one dubbed as 'Human Chanel'. This year, the star takes a different stunning form in Alaia pleasantly surprising fans and the fashion set as well as showcasing Jennie's style versatility. Prior to that, in 2021, fellow Blackpink member Rosé made her Met Gala debut in Saint Laurent with Anthony Vaccarello and was the first K-pop idol to attend the illustrious event.
