Here's a First Look at the J.W. Anderson x Uniqlo Collection
Mark your calendars: the much anticipated J.W. Anderson x Uniqlo collaboration will make its global debut on 19 September.
Taking inspiration from heritage British garments, the 33-piece capsule collection is an edit of classic autumn wardrobe staples, featuring Aran and Fair Isle sweaters, trench coats, puffer jackets, and striped scarves. The iconic tartan print features heavily in the collection, as does instantly recognisable touches of the designer – from the anchor logo and JW initials to Henri Gaudier-Brzeska sketch prints (Anderson's favourite artist) on t-shirts and sweaters.
Needless to say, the collection is affordable: prices range from $19.90 for a graphic t-shirt to $249.90 for a trench coat. Anderson, 34, who is also Creative Director of Loewe says, “Collaborations are incredibly important in design. Working with Uniqlo is probably the most incredible template of democracy in fashion, and it’s nice that my designs can be accessible to anyone, on all different levels.”
This is not his first collaboration with a high street retailer: in 2012 and 2013, the Northern Irish designer teamed up with Topshop on a limited-edition capsule collection to much fanfare.
Following its global launch on 19 September, the J.W. Anderson x Uniqlo collection will be available in Singapore online and at Uniqlo Orchard Central on 22 September.
