The Nicolas Ghesquière-designed cruise collection showed last week at The Salk Institute for Biological Studies, constructed by architect Louis Kahn in San Diego. Tallying 56-looks in this collection, Ghesquière channelled empowering silhouettes in metallic palettes, inspired by Greek mythological female warriors.

Upon closer examination of the collection, we saw the maison’s iconic monogram adapted into different accessories, shoes, and bags.

Bags

Staying true to the collection’s theme of reflective metals and embellishments, some of the accessories carried distinctive silver and gold tones with readapted designs of the popular Petite Malle, Cannes, and Twist MM bags. Alongside, the House revived its collaboration with Japanese contemporary artist, Yayoi Kusama, featuring vibrant polka dot details on the bags.

As a tribute to modern warrior gears, the accessories displayed armour-like silhouettes, such as gloves mirroring the design of gauntlets constructed with hardened leather and metal plates, and contemporary headwear resembling medieval helmets. These statement accessories carry the essence of protection and eccentricity.
