American Label, GUESS Lit Up the Runway at the UltraLuxe Festival 2023

From Singapore Watch Fair to JeweLuxe, this year’s edition of UltraLuxe continues to transform the luxury sector.

With UltraLuxe, luxury doesn’t just mean one thing. Over 10 days, the niche luxury festival UltraLuxe showcased a large-scale runway event with global fashion house GUESS, and over 100 local and international designers. The affair was held at the TENT@Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza on Orchard Road in Singapore and expanded this year with the launch of the Singapore Watch Fair at the Equarius Hotel, Resorts World Sentosa.

Breaking last year’s records, this year’s edition of the UltraLuxe Festival, held from October 13 to 22, saw over 12,000 attendees at the showcase, up from 2022’s 10,000 visitors. The Singapore-based event also saw an uptick in international attendees, with a growing interest from global audiences in UltraLuxe and the exciting world of niche luxury.

The main highlight of the UltraLuxe Festival this year was the runway show, titled GUESS A New Era, put together by GUESS and Marciano by GUESS on October 14. Founded in the 1990s by Paul Marciano, the luxurious, high-fashion appeal of Marciano by GUESS meets the everyday chic of GUESS in this new collection. Presenting their Fall/Winter 2023 collection, the internationally adored American label had models strutting down the runway in figure-hugging bodycon dresses and sophisticated co-ord sets. 

True to GUESS’ central ideology, the collection focused on the empowerment of women and the female figure. With its bold body-conscious fits, the collection chose to underscore and embrace the power of femininity. In a world where femininity is constantly being redefined, GUESS A New Era accentuates the idea of sensuality, creating strong silhouettes to embolden women all over the world.

Of course, GUESS’ timeless denim made its way down the runway too, peppered between bright, daring printed dresses and tailored jumpsuits. The GUESS A New Era show didn’t shy away from the idea of self-assured confidence – lush coats were paired with warm knit ensembles and sleek denim jeans were matched with soft embroidered blouses. The runway show illustrated GUESS and Marciano by GUESS’ lasting influence as an innovative, inclusive fashion house that has stood the test of time. The brand has ignored frivolous trends and fads, in favour of its message of empowerment and passion.

UltraLuxe Festival also saw a wide range of other fashion and accessories events, including JeweLuxe, a luxury showcase of unique gems and jewellery pieces from global designers. The Singapore Watch Fair was another crowd favourite, with rare vintage watches from iconic brands such as Patek Philippe and Rolex on display for collectors to admire.

The niche luxury festival was not just a destination for women, as demonstrated by UltraLuxe/Homme. A new expansion to the festival lineup, the event created an authentic space for men to explore a range of curated indulgent experiences. In addition, UltraLuxe/Advocacy, which champions meaningful purpose at the niche luxury festival, put on the second run of the In The Mood for Kebaya parade on October 20.

The ten-day UltraLuxe offered guests the rare opportunity to experience a new type of luxury while meeting and networking with other like-minded individuals who share the same passion. From the high fashion showcase from GUESS and Marciano by GUESS, to the UltraLuxe/Homme event, the festival was the place to be for fashion aficionados.
