Gucci: Met Gala 2019 Looks
Gucci's creative director, Alessandro Michele, dressed Gala co-chair Harry Styles, Dakota Johnson, Kiki Layne, Jared Leto and more for the Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, in outfits reminiscent of the label's whimsical, eccentrically flamboyant direction.
Harry Styles wore a custom Gucci black organza shirt with black lace and organza jabot with high waisted black wool-mohair trousers, black patent leather boots, and a single bee earring with cream drop pearl and interlocking G in metal with aged gold finish. He completed his look with 14k yellow gold H and S letter rings, a Le Marché des Merveilles Ring with feline head and a Le Marché des Merveilles Lionhead ring, both embellished with diamonds and precious stones.
The man himself, Alessandro Michele, was decked out in a ruffled pink outfit, adorning his flowy tresses with a silver floral headpiece. Both men looked like a match made in heaven, we daresay!
Decked out in one of the Gala's most edgy and whimsical of outfits, is Jared Leto. Wearing a flame-hammered matte satin high neck long sleeve tunic with padded shoulders, front ruffle and body accessory in metal with aged palladium finish and crystals with purple lamé trousers, white tulle gloves with crystal embroidery and a pair of metal bracelets in metal with aged palladium finish and crystals. He also turned heads (literally!) by carrying a replica of his head, made by visual and special effects creative factory Makinarium.
Salma Hayek Pinault wore a custom Gucci black and ivory tulle gown with gold leaves on the neckline and trompe l’oeil plissé embroidery on the skirt with gold leather high heel platform sandals, a metallic envelope clutch with crystal butterfly detail, and aged gold and metal crown. A perfect outfit to bring out the goddess that she is.
Irish actress Saoirse Ronan was decked out in a custom Gucci hibiscus red all-over sequin long puff sleeve crew neck gown with green and white iridescent intarsia detail on the top and 3-D dragon embroidery with gold leather high heel platform sandals. She completed her look with a pair of Le Marché des Merveilles Lion head and Feline head earrings, a Le Marché des Merveilles Lionhead ring and a Dionysus ring.
Singer Florence Welch wore a custom Gucci all-over dégradé embroidered cape with 3-D flying birds and wings made of crystal, pearls, and sequins, with an iridescent aquamarine flower lace long sleeve gown with a corset and matching ribbon detail, metallic blue leather high heel sandals and a turquoise snake printed bag with crystal details. She completed her look with an F letter ring in sterling silver, Anger Forest wolf head ring, Le Marché des Merveilles Feline and Fox Rings, wore Gucci Beauty Baume à Lèvres in shade number 02 ‘No More Orchids’ and shade number 200 ‘Blaze of Noon.’
