Gucci Ushers in the Year of the Dog with a New Gift Collection
Birds, snakes and tigers: we've seen a variety of fauna (and lots of flora) adorn Gucci's collections since Creative Director Alessandro Michele took reign of the Italian house. This Chinese New Year, however, he's adding something a little more personal to the mix.
Meet Bosco and Orso, Michele's beloved pet Boston terriers — and the mascots of Gucci's latest gift collection dedicated to the Year of the Dog. The dogs make their appearance through motifs inspired by an illustration by frequent Gucci collaborator and artist Helen Downie (AKA @unskilledworker to her Instagram fans).
Spot the pups across the myriad of pieces created just for the collection, from women's and men's clothing (think knitted sweaters, hoodies and Gucci staple unisex bomber jackets) to bags, wallets and accessories. You can even trick out your Gucci Ace sneakers with special patches featuring the dogs' faces, or just get a ready-made pair in black or white.
If you're an iPhone X user and you find yourself a little more attached to the adorable pooches than you should be, head over to the Gucci app. There, you'll be able to film and interact with the pair thanks to an advanced face recognition technology.
The Chinese New Year Gift Collection is now available in Gucci stores and on gucci.com.
