Fendi's Kim Jones took the saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" seriously for the house's Women's Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Inspired by the ease of dressing and personal touches behind Roman street style, Jones set out to create pieces that embrace just that in this collection, in hopes of encouraging wearers to be their best selves through the freedom that comes with Roman dressing.

“When I am in Rome, every day I walk from the hotel to the Colosseum wearing my ear pods. It’s like listening to a soundtrack to an imaginary film with Fendi characters I see along the way,” says the Artistic Director of Couture and Womenswear.

“In Rome, there is an elegance in ease and not caring what anybody else thinks – that is real luxury. In this collection, I wanted to reflect that. It is about women who dress for themselves and their own lives, I see it with Silvia and Delfina all of the time. It’s not about the spectacle of being looked at but the reality of wearing and the confidence and chicness that comes with it. It’s not about being something but being someone.”

A few icons catch our eye in this collection; mostly notably the Selleria stitch, originated by Roman master saddlers. It takes the spotlight in Fendi's leather garments, this time to meld metal thread hardware onto shoes and on Fendi Filo jewellery. Fendi's iconic FF logo also remains a staple for the range, as presented on jewellery and clothing. The Flip bag, a colour-blocking shopper that folds into a clutch, also joins the myriad of bags available in the range – Peekaboo, Baguette, Origami and First.
