Escape to the Countryside with Longchamp’s Latest Collection
Longchamp’s Spring/Summer Ready-To-Wear Collection is a classy escapade made for your cottagecore dreams.
Picture this: wind blowing in your hair, the sound of friends and family talking, an old oak table set with colourful earthenware filled with an array of freshly-baked pastries. Longchamp knows that exact feeling — their new Spring/Summer 2022 ready-to-wear collection encapsulates that.
Basic whites and creams enlivened with bold blocks and prints — all made with Longchamp’s finest linen. Their collaboration with Charvet, purveyor of the finest French linen tea towels since 1866 is to thank for last summer’s well-loved Filt shopping nets, and this year’s reiteration of Le Pliage: the brand's iconic white linen tote bag with a vertical red and blue stripe.
According to Creative Director Sophie Delafontaine, the collection follows her love for brightly hued pottery, embroidery and soft floral patterns of traditional counterpanes. The eclectic influence is prominent with the tea-towel stripes and checks throughout the ready-to-wear collection.
Accessories also adopt the tea-towel theme, such as the striped canvas sun hat and checked hi-top sneakers. The soft, sun-bleached denim and mini dress worn over tea-towel stripe trousers epitomises the relaxed mood of a summer escapade.
Whether you pick the sleeveless mini-shift in crisp white cotton poplin with a broad red stripe around the hem, or the below-the-knee dress made in fine checked cotton, Longchamp will have you ready for the cottagecore trip of your dreams.
