Baifern is a bonafide megastar in her native country of Thailand — and with the surging popularity of Thai dramas in the region, Singaporeans have gotten to know her and come to love the actress for her roles in 2022 dramas, A Tale of Ylang Ylang and Sinaeha Saree. Last month, Baifern visited our sunny shores for the opening of THE ONITSUKA’s first flagship boutique in South-East Asia, at ION Orchard. The actress found time for an exclusive digital cover shoot and interview with L’OFFICIEL SINGAPORE.

Welcome to Singapore, Baifern! You’re here for the opening of THE ONITSUKA’s store in Singapore. What do you like most about THE ONITSUKA?

It fits my personal style really well — it’s easy to wear and I really enjoy wearing the brand’s dressy pieces.

You’ve been friends with ONITSUKA TIGER for a while now, and you watched the Spring/Summer 2023 show from the front row in Milan. How was that experience?

It was my first time attending Milan Fashion Week, and I was so excited and proud to be a part the team attending ONITSUKA TIGER’s show.

You’ve been acting for almost 15 years, and we’ve gotten to watch your dramas like A Tale of Ylang Ylang and Sinaeha Saree in Singapore. What kind of roles would you like to do more of in the future?

I’m interested in many types of roles. Something I’ve never tried is to portray a person facing challenges or physical difficulties — for example, a character with a disability. I think it will be challenging but so fulfilling to be able to take on such a different role.

If you could have more of any one thing this year, what would that be?

It’s hard to choose one thing — I’m currently building a house, and I’m also hoping to travel more and work more this year.

What can we expect from Baifern next?

I have a series that will tentatively be released this year, and a Thai drama that should be out next year. They were exciting and challenging for me to do — so please stay tuned.
