NYFW is coming up this September, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) just released the preliminary schedule, featuring returning and new designers. During the second weekend of September, New York is abuzz with fashion, from the impressive designers showcasing their work on the runway to all the chic street style and celebrity looks that keep the looks coming even after the shows are over.

This year, New York Fashion Week starts on September 8 at 2 p.m., heralded by Helmut Lang. Newly appointed creative director Peter Do will kick off the show with his first collection for the label. Other notable designers showing that day include Ralph Lauren in his first appearance since 2019. The designer has been staging runways off-calender, but this September will be his first time back for NYFW.

Ending the week at 8 p.m. on September 13 is Luar from Rual Lopez, winner of the American Accessory Designer of the Year Award at the 2022 CFDA Fashion Awards. Other winners showing collections include Catherine Holstein of Khaite, the American Womenswear Designer of the Year, and Elena Velez, the American Emerging Designer of the Year.

The CFDA also offers its CFDA/Vogue Fashion fund to support the growth of young, emerging American designers. The ten finalists will also be showing collections during NYFW 2023, including Colin LoCascio, Diotima, Kim Shui, Kozaburo, Melitta Baumeister (who will be doing a digital release), Sami Miró Vintage, Tanner Fletcher, Who Decides War, and Zankov.

To kick off the week, Coach will be showing on September 7 at 7:30 p.m., celebrating Creative Director Stuart Vever's tenth year with the brand. While it may be months away, take a look at the NYFW preliminary schedule to get excited for what awaits at summer's end.
