Following the launch of Rexy and the appointment of creative director Stuart Vevers, it seems Coach is once again moving towards becoming an American fashion staple.

Inspired by the western American influences, specifically Santa Fe, the Spring 2019 collection felt like a Barry Sonnenfeld’s 1999 film Wild Wild West meets apocalyptic wastelands. Coach presented muted palettes decorated with lace, distressed leather, and, of course, Disney motifs throughout the collection. Considering that their newest collaboration involves both Selena Gomez and Disney, it’s only fair that the brand presented the merged designs now.

Denim dresses juxtaposed with oversized ruffled nightgown tops, left viewers wondering what prompted this dramatic turn of design direction, considering Coach's foray into mass market handbags throughout the 90’s and early 2000’s.

But amidst all the shows this season, Vevers actually presented something eye-catching. While nobody can confirm the fiscal success of the collection until it hits department stores and boutiques, one thing is for sure: Coach 2019 is here to stay, whether you like it or not.
