Riccardo Tisci's Second Collection for Burberry is Here
If you haven't yet warmed up to Burberry's new vision as dictated by Riccardo Tisci, here's a chance to do so (and quite literally, we might add). The British brand has just unveiled its Autumn Winter 2019 Pre-Collection, which doesn't stray much from what we saw at Tisci's debut show in September. And what we saw were archive prints, 50 shades of beige and that unforgettable Thomas Burberry monogram — all distilled into wearable pieces for the working woman, the tailored gentleman and the girls and boys with street-luxe sensibilities.
You'll find more or less the same in this new collection, with a pronounced emphasis on outerwear for both men and women. We're talking trench coats, car coats, Harrington jackets, duffle coats, parkas, tailored jackets and everything in between. Some of the more interesting offerings in the mix are the silk satin puffer capes (see looks #10 and #25), which one could also describe as elegant, ready-to-wear duvets — something Phoebe Philo would most definitely get on board with.
As for the accessories? Tisci has refreshed his first Burberry bag, the TB Bag, with new colours and fabrics, including canvas and Monogram leather styles. He has also introduced its successor, the Title Bag, which is a new tote featuring a three-snap fastening that will launch later next year as part of the collection.
