Billie Eilish Channels Old Hollywood in Gucci's Eyewear Campaign
The singer is the new face of Gucci's latest eyewear campaign.
Billie Eilish meets the glamour of Old Hollywood as the face of Gucci’s latest eyewear campaign. Reminiscent of Ryan Murphy's Hollywood and Damien Chazelle's La La Land, this cinematic campaign was intentionally envisioned as a tribute to film noir.
Directed by Alessandro Michele and lensed by Harley Weir, the images and accompanying short film showcase the singer in a selection of bold retro frames that perfectly complement the picturesque backdrop of Hollywood Hills.
The film follows Eilish and her doppelgänger date on a trip around Hollywood Hills, bringing a whole new meaning to the art of self-love. They wear two of the house's latest eyewear models – black acetate Navigator glasses with gold Gucci script fashioned onto its frames and pink retro cat-eye shades.
Eilish's "embrace of authenticity and self-expression speaks to the house’s core values," says Gucci in a statement, explaining why they chose the 20-year-old artist for the campaign. "She is also considered by many to be the voice of her generation."
