Balenciaga Celebrate Love with a Special Collection for Qixi Festival
The Balenciaga Qixi 23 Series is inspired by the endurance of love.
This year, to celebrate the Qixi Festival on the 22nd August, Balenciaga launches an exclusive series of products and campaign to commemorate love.
The collection features wardrobe staples like oversized T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants, and baseball caps with embroidered outlines of a heart and the words “Je t’aime.” Besides, iconic Balenciaga accessories are reimagined with extravagant appeal. Le Cagole bags, Explorer backpacks, Paris high tops, and mules are pierced all over with circular barbells in silver metal; Hourglass bags and Marie-Antoinette pumps are adorned in bow-tied ribbons; Crush bags and Pool slides are reconstructed in pink leopard-print fake fur.
For the dedicated campaign, the New York City-based photographer Shinichi Tsutsui captures real-life couples on the streets of Shanghai in Balenciaga Qixi 23 Series. The pairs candidly posed together and shared their love story in a short clip.
