After 16 months and two collections at Lanvin, Artistic Director Jarrar is leaving the troubled house, effective immediately.

The new has come as a shock to many as Jarrar, 46, was recently inducted as an Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters, one of France’s highest honours. She was named successor to Alber Elbaz in March 2016, after the latter was dramatically ousted from the storied fashion house. In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Jarrar said: "I wanted to dedicate my whole self to Lanvin, to relaunch the Maison and brand, so I shut my own label down… But I need the whole house’s support; alone it’s impossible."

Lanvin released an official statement confirming Jarrar's departure:

"Lanvin and Bouchra Jarrar have mutually decided to put an end to their collaboration. This decision is effective as of today. Madame Wang wishes to thank Bouchra Jarrar, who since her arrival brought her talent to serve the company."
