The biggest names in music took a break from their busy careers on Sunday for the 47th American Music Awards, and judging from the looks on the red carpet, they were there to have fun. From bright colours and shimmering fabrics to ruffles and loud patterns, the stars pulled out all the stops to impress. Then again, we wouldn't expect any less from the awards with its history of jaw-dropping looks - remember the matching denim outfits Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake wore back in 2001?
