Aimee Cheng-Bradshaw Mesmerises in Louis Vuitton's Resort 2021 Collection
Nicolas Ghesquiere has long had a fascination with the future and his creations for Louis Vuitton rarely venture into a place of nostalgia, which is what makes this Resort 2021 collection particularly fascinating. While not quite a trip down memory lane, Ghesquiere put forth familiarity. He did it by remixing some of his greatest hits, like the articulated cargo trousers, sculpted blazers, and utility dresses of his previous collections albeit with a lighter, more relaxed hand.
To accompany them were accessories with a playing card motif, including some of the brand’s “New Classics” that will undoubtedly become collector's items. The Pont 9, Twist, and Capucines also featured in this spread are part of Louis Vuitton's new guard meant to stand the test of time. Made up mostly of pieces with simple lines with the sort of obvious appeal that make them feel immediately familiar too.
