Adele takes on Couture in her Music Video for 'Oh My God'
On January 12, Adele released her music video – titled 'Oh My God' with cinematic black and white scenes and gorgeous custom couture costumes.
No one but Adele deserves the title of Queen of Custom Couture. Thanks to her great influence in each of her tunes to all generations, Adele is always sought after by top luxury fashion houses. From the big stage to the music videos, the red carpet will always be spread out for her.
On January 12, after a week of teasers and images, the British rose released the cinematic music video for her song – 'Oh My God'. Besides her powerful vocals, lyrics, and smooth black-and-white transitions, the fashion in the video also has audiences in awe.
As a typical feature, Adele and stylist Jamie Mizrahi have chosen all tailor-made and edited couture designs for this music video. In the first scene, Adele appeared in a polka dot see-through silk shirt with large sleeves, combined with a black dress and Harris Reed X Missoma earrings. Harris Reed is currently an emerging genderfluid designer from London and this is the first time he has been honoured with dressing up the British star.
While Adele was still sitting on the wooden chair, the camera cleverly switched to the singer in a custom Louis Vuitton dress and a regal capalet inspired by the House's Spring/Summer 2022 collection.
The real highlight of the whole video lies in the final look, when Adele bids farewell to the familiar Italian fashion house Schiaparelli to return to the arms of the "big tree" of the Land of Mist, Vivienne Westwood and the jewellery brand trusted by the British Royal Family – Cartier. The scarlet colour of her satin corset dress with a regal silk skirt and the sparkling white of million-dollar diamonds create luxury that can only appear in Adele's work.
