Moncler Drops The Unique 2 Moncler 1952 + Valextra Collection
Moncler Genius' latest drop, 2 Moncler 1952 + Valextra (named after the brand's founding year) see a collaboration with leather goods brand, Valextra, for a collection inspired by youth culture.
Both the menswear and womenswear collections, designed by Sergio Zambon and Veronica Leoni respectively, launched on 29 August - unveiling unique collections showcasing each designer's own styles.
For the menswear collection, Zambon added a relaxed touch to contrast Moncler's strong technical designs. He introduced 70s-inspired colour palettes, outdoorsy pieces and a new relaxed formality, where he matched his pieces in a way that effectively combines formal wear with outdoor and comfort wear - for instance pairing windbreakers under more formal, sturdy suits, and layering neckties under a puffer or cargo outerwear.
Meanwhile, Leoni plays around with a mix-and-match of different shapes and materials (from fishnets to knits and wools) in unique and practical ways. The pieces are diverse, with sillhouettes that can be styled to fit the individual, and includes extended parkas, biker jackets and more that make for comfortable and stylish pieces. Leoni also teamed up with London brand Itchy Scratchy Patchy to make custom patches that go with the biker style pieces in the collection.
Both the menswear and womenswear collections include crossbody and week-end bags from their collaboration with Valextra. featuring the latter's high craftsmanship and style inspired by architecture, design and Milanese background, with an added touch of Moncler's tone-on-tone signature accessories.
