Givenchy Spring/Summer 2019
Creative director Clare Waight Keller showed a totally different side of Givenchy at her latest show.
Titled "I Am Your Mirror", Givenchy's Spring/Summer 2019 collection was inspired by Annemarie Schwarzenbach, a famous bisexual German journalist from the 1900s. Models mirrored Schwarzenbach's androgynous appearance with their short hair and clothing that blurred the line between the sexes. For women, there were tuxedo jackets and flat cut cargo pants, balanced with nightwear and floral dresses for a feminine touch. Floral prints were also found on men's looks, which included trench coats and leather jackets. With this collection, Keller pulls the fashion world away from gender stereotypes with beautiful masculine tailoring and metallic, monochromatic designs.
