TWICE's Dahyun is Gearing Up For Her Actress Era with Upcoming Films
The K-pop idol has been offered acting roles in not one but two upcoming film projects.
It looks like Dahyun of K-pop girl group TWICE is going into her actress era and fans are hyped with anticipation! Earlier in May this year, the stunning idol has been confirmed to make her big screen debut in the upcoming film titled, Sprint and now, South Korean news outlets are also reporting that she is also in talks to be the leading lady of another film, namely a Korean adaptation of the popular Taiwanese coming-of-age romance, You Are The Apple Of My Eye. The latter was a smash hit in 2011, becoming the third highest grossing film that year in Taiwan before taking the rest of the world by storm.
JYP Entertainment has since confirmed that Dahyun has received an offer for the role and is currently reviewing it. If she takes up the offer, Dahyun will like play the role of Shen Chia Yi from the original film, portrayed by Michelle Chen.
This news came after it has been confirmed that Dahyun will be making her acting debut with the upcoming sports film, Sprint. Directed by Lee Seung-hoon and also starring Ha Seok-jin and Captivating the King's Lee Shin-young, Sprint is a feel-good sports film about an athlete named Kang Goo-young (played by Ha Seok-jin) who broke records in his field when he was younger and later became jaded as his passion for the sport faded. The film tells the story of Kang getting back on his feet and finding his purpose again in an incredibly competitive, cut-throat and physically demanding field.
This is a huge moment for ONCE too as Dahyun will be the first member from the beloved K-pop group to make an official acting debut and she is already being offered a second role, which certainly speaks to not just her star power but her versatility and talent.
