Madame Web is a hero from the 'Spider-Man' comics, whose moniker refers to her attachment to a life-support system given her old age. Her powers come from her psychic abilities, unlike many other action-driven characters from the comics. 'Madame Web' will be Sony's first film led by a female cast.
Following the successes of the second season of 'Euphoria', which placed Sweeney's character at the forefront of the show's drama, Sweeney is widely desired for a variety of upcoming acting roles according to Deadline.
