She’s already the Queen of the North, and now, Sophie Turner is taking on another aristocratic role, this time lending her talents to an IRL royal — Princess Charlotte, otherwise known as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.

Turner will voice the five-year-old princess in the forthcoming HBO Max animated series, The Prince, created by writer and producer Gary Janetti of Family Guy  and Will & Grace fame. The new satirical comedy is inspired by Janetti’s tongue-in-cheek Instagram account (@garyjanetti), where he provides parodical commentary on the British monarchy by imagining the inner thoughts of HRH Prince George (Charlotte’s older brother) in the form of astute and acerbic memes. Accordingly, The Prince will spill the tea on the royal family and their antics through the eyes of the young heir, or rather, his ruthlessly ambitious, hilariously catty, often sweary alter-ego, brought to life by Janetti himself.

Just a few days ago, Janetti gave us a sneak peek at Turner’s portrayal of Princess Charlotte in a short clip posted on social media, in which George tells everyone that the Cambridge kids are dressing up for Halloween as the Three Little Pigs, only to have his plans dashed by Charlotte, who’s decided to go as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz instead. “I changed my mind,” she states. “Pigs are kind of gross.”

Turner shared the video to her Instagram Story, writing “Charlotte is coming! And I couldn’t be more honoured to join this cast and go on this fun/filled adventure with @garyjanetti.” Her husband Joe Jonas added to the excitement, reposting the clip on his personal page with the caption, “CANNOT WAIT!”

Besides the aforementioned two actors, the high-profile cast features Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry, Iwan Rheon as Prince William, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton, and Condola Rashad as Meghan Markle, while Frances de la Tour will play “Gan-Gan” Queen Elizabeth, Tom Hollander will portray both Prince Philip and Prince Charles, and Alan Cumming will star as George’s butler Owen.

No release date has been announced yet, but you can watch a quarantine-themed teaser below, and check out a few of our favourite royal memes here, here and here.
