Rumours Confirmed! YG Announces The Return of 2NE1 with Concert Tour
One of the best girl groups of the 2nd generation of K-pop is back!
As the clock struck midnight on July 22 in Korea, YG Entertainment unveiled a captivating announcement video featuring founder Yang Hyun-suk himself, who shared thrilling news about 2NE1's future.
Fifteen years after their iconic debut, the legendary girl group is set to reunite for a highly anticipated global tour, beginning in Seoul this October. The tour will then journey to Osaka in late November and Tokyo in December, with performances extending into 2025.
The announcement video, rich with nostalgia, concludes with a montage of 2NE1's most celebrated hits, reigniting fans' fervour.
Last month, whispers of a reunion gained momentum when YG Entertainment confirmed that Yang Hyun-suk met with 2NE1 at their headquarters, although no official plans were disclosed at the time. Adding fuel to the fire, Minzy's recent social media post stirred fan excitement, with many rallying for the group's return.
Speculation reached a fever pitch when CL was spotted outside the YG Entertainment building. The group's unexpected disbandment in 2017 left fans yearning for more, and apart from a surprise performance at Coachella in 2022, opportunities to see 2NE1 together have been rare.
