NewJeans is Set To Perform at the 2024 Billboard Women In Music Awards
The quintet will also be recognised as the Group of the Year at the awards show taking place in early March.
K-pop girl group NewJeans is reaching yet another big milestone in their career. This time, the five-member group consisting of Haerin, Hanni, Minji, Danielle and Hye-in has been revealed to make an appearance at the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards. The ‘Super Shy’ singers will be performing at the ceremony and will receive the Group of the Year award, to commemorate their meteoric success as young, global K-pop icons.
Held this year on March 6 in Los Angeles, the 2024 Billboard Women in Music Awards will be hosted by actress Tracee Ellis Ross. Also in attendance at the awards show will be Charli XCX, Kylie Minogue, Victoria Monét, Luísa Sonza, Ice Spice and more. Billboard’s Woman of the Year for 2024 Karol G will also be present at the event, to be held at the YouTube Theater.
This year, the Colombian singer-songwriter won the Grammy for Best Música Urbana Album for her fourth studio album Mañana Será Bonito. The same album also made her the first woman to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart with a Spanish-language album.
NewJeans, who debuted in 2022 with ‘Attention’ has had nothing short of a stellar career so far. Best known for their girl-next-door image and nostalgic hit tracks, the group took home numerous awards at various Korean music awards shows in 2023 and 2024 for ‘Ditto’ and group accomplishments, recognising the quintet’s musicality and international reach. NewJeans also won the Top Global K-pop Artist at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards.
The girls of NewJeans also visited Singapore for the first time last week, for the launch of their Nike By You x NewJeans collaboration, where select fans were treated to a lineup of their hit songs including ‘New Jeans’, ‘OMG’ and ‘ETA’.
