Michelle Yeoh Got Married in Geneva After Longtime Engagement with Jean Todt

After 19 years of being engaged, Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt have finally gotten married during a small, private wedding ceremony in Geneva.

Ring the wedding bells! Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt have finally got married after a 19-year engagement.

Former Ferrari Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa shared photos on his Instagram of the intimate wedding ceremony that took place in Geneva Switzerland, including the wedding program and numerous images of friends, family, and of course, Yeoh and Todt.

"We met in Shanghai on 4th June 2004," the wedding program reads. "On 26th July 2004, J.T proposed to marry M.Y and she said YES. Today after 6992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!"

The Crazy Rich Asians actress and Todt, who is the former CEO of Ferrari, got engaged after nearly two months of dating and has since then kept their relationship relatively private and away from the public eye.

In 2014, Todt once shared that Michael Schumacher helped him learn how to send his first text message to Yeoh, in which he even then referred to Yeoh as his "wife."

"I don’t use a computer. I don’t know how to. My maximum is SMS. I wanted to communicate with my wife, in fact," Todt said. "So I spoke to Michael Schumacher. We were together. He said 'Send an SMS.' I said 'I don’t know how to send one.' So he was the one who taught me."

For their wedding, the couple kept their wedding attire simple and classic as Yeoh wore a silky cream top and tasseled maxi skirt while Todt sported a dark blue suit. As the images go on, Yeoh switched out her cream top and skirt for a nude lace dress underneath a beige boned corset bodice.

Another image shared includes a surprising wedding guest: Yeoh's historic Oscar statuette.

The wedding comes shortly after Yeoh made history by becoming the first Asian woman to win Best Actress for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once at the 2023 Oscar Awards — and only the second woman of colour after Halle Berry in 2002.

"This is actually a historical moment, and I have to thank the Academy for acknowledging, embracing diversity and true representation," Yeoh said in the press room after the award ceremony. "I think this is something that we have been working so hard towards for a very long time, and tonight we freaking broke that glass ceiling. It's not just the Asian community. This is for the Asian community and anyone who has been identified as a minority."

She continued, "If this is your passion, this is your love, you have to stand up for yourself and for what you believe in and for what you want to do."
