Everything You Need to Know About Phases 5 and 6 of Marvel
It's an exciting future for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with three years worth of projects announced at San Diego Comic-Con yesterday.
Marvel fans can look forward to more exciting content, with the unveiling of phases 5 and 6 of the popular cinematic universe. In typical MCU fashion, Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige went all out with the new announcements yesterday, bringing news of future films and TV series to be released within the next three years.
Taking over the legendary Hall H of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) yesterday, Feige invited the cast of some up-and-coming MCU projects down to address the new additions to the universe's lineup. In attendance were the cast of 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law', 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania', and 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3'.
What's Left of Phase 4
Phase 4 of the MCU is almost complete, with two of the last remaining projects being 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' and 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' coming this August and November respectively.
Both the casts made an appearance at SDCC over the weekend, with new faces like She-Hulk's Tatiana Maslany and Black Panther's Michaela Coel joining the already seasoned members of MCU like Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong'o, and Danai Gurira on stage.
Take a look at the newly-released trailers and teasers for the projects below:
What to Expect from Phase 5
Up next, you can expect a large repertoire of Marvel Studios' films and TV shows this 2023 and 2024. With the already confirmed projects joining the list like 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania', 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3', 'Loki Season 2', and 'Agatha: Coven of Chaos', more have been introduced at SDCC – including everyone's favourite return of Charlie Cox's 'Daredevil', who was also seen teased at the end of the trailer for 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law'.
Another fan-favourite MCU show – 'Loki Season 2' has also just started filming, this time in London, UK, instead of Atlanta, US, as it did in season one. Cast members Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Wunmi Mosaku were all spotted on set over the past couple of weeks.
Besides 'Loki Season 2', more plot details have also been unveiled for some of Phase 5's films.
'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' will showcase Scott Lang's run-in with fame after the release of his book: Look Out for the Little Guy. In a short teaser shown at SDCC, Ant-Man will also meet a variant of Kang (last seen in 'Loki Season 1').
As for 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3', it has been confirmed by James Gunn himself that this will be the last we see of this group of Guardians in the MCU, a sad announcement for all GOTG fans out there.

A Brief Look at Phase 6
Lastly, we have Marvel Studios' 2025 releases: A new 'Fantastic Four' movie and two 'Avengers' films so far. Many fans are already speculating who the new cast for the 'Fantastic Four' franchise could be; the most obvious choice being John Krasinski after his portrayal of Mr Fantastic in 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' earlier this year.
It is also quite concerning to have two 'Avengers' movies in the same year, where chances of fan-favourite characters getting killed off in the first one being more plausible. After what happened in 'Avengers: Infinity War', we're not quite sure we're ready for another heartbreaking cliffhanger of the sort. But alas, we'll leave that into the capable hands of Marvel Studios in the years to come.
8 more projects will be unveiled at Disney's D23 Expo on 23 September later this year. Stay tuned for updates.
