BLACKPINK's Lisa Drops Her Collab Track with Spanish Star, Rosalía
The highly anticipated solo single did not disappoint with its empowering message and breathtaking visuals.
Lisa Manoban is a brand new woman and she is not about to let anyone dull her shine! The K-pop superstar and BLACKPINK member is going global and has released her brand new solo single titled, 'New Woman' in collaboration with Grammy award winning Spanish songstress, Rosalía. The catchy and empowering pop track about living your best life was co-written by Swedish singer Tove Lo, and produced by Max Martin and Ilya. The latter duo had worked on Ariana Grande's hits like 'Yes, And?' and 'Problem'.
For the visual feast of a music video, Lisa worked with Grammy-winning music director, Dave Meyers who had worked on some of the most iconic music videos to date such as Missy Elliott's 'Work It', Kendrick Lamar's 'Humble', Ariana Grande's 'No Tears Left To Cry' and Taylor Swift's 'ME!', just to name a few. 'New Woman' will be another impressive project to add to his decorated portfolio as the music video featured breathtaking visuals and abstract imagery about being your baddest self.
The track comes hot on the heels of Lisa's recent solo smash-hit single, 'Rockstar' which gained incredible success on streaming and radio charts. Carrying forward the same rebellious and confident energy from her last track, 'New Woman' solidifies Lisa's transformation and liberation to express herself freely and be her true self. "Revving up my ah-ah-ah-ah-aura // Focus on my mind // Taking my time // I'm a new woman, woman," she sings, almost as a mantra for this new chapter in her life. Rosalía echoes her sentiment with her own spanish verse, "Yo vivo pa’ cantar, no canto pa’ vivir" which means, “I live to sing, not sing to live". Reiterating that they do what they do because they are passionate about music and to stay focused in their lane in order to strive for excellence. We love to see it!
Beyond music, the Thai star is also making moves in the realm of acting as she is confirmed to star is Season 3 of HBO's hit series, 'White Lotus'. Lisa is also set to perform later in September of this year at the Global Citizen Festival alongside a star-studded line-up consisting of Post Malone, Doja Cat and more.
