All the Stars We Spotted at Prada Mode Seoul's, 'Plural and Parallel'
TWICE’s Sana, ENHYPHEN, actor Win Metawin and more visited the 10th iteration of the private club held at KOTE.
On 5th and 6th September, Prada Mode unveiled its 10th iteration in Seoul titled Plural and Parallel, held at cultural space KOTE. Prada Mode functions as an exclusive club that brings different contemporary cultural experiences together, at diverse locations around the globe. Previous iterations of the event were hosted in other major cities such as Tokyo, Dubai and Los Angeles. Plural and Parallel in Seoul saw guest appearances from brand ambassadors Sana from Twice, ENHYPHEN, Jeon Somi and Jaehyun from NCT. Actors Kim Taeri, Song Kang and Win Metawin — who are also Prada house ambassadors — also attended the event, which had its first day ending with a private dinner and an after-party.
For Prada Mode Seoul, KOTE was transformed by Lee Sook-Kyung, curator and writer, to showcase contemporary Korean cinema through the lenses of three South Korean directors across the venue’s multiple buildings. The site-specific installations were undertaken by esteemed directors Kim Jee-Woon, Yeon Sang-ho, and Jeong Dahee, who worked with Lee Sook-Kyung to bring ideas of culinary excellence, absence and mortality to life.
The two-day event featured various conversations by each of the three directors, and other featured speakers including film critic Kim Haery and Korean author Muru. Guests attending “Crossing Boundaries: Yeon Sang-ho’s Universe” by Yeon Sang-ho and Yang Ik-june, moderated by Cho Young-kag, learnt about how Yeon Sang-ho’s work Hellbound originated as a webtoon and short film and transversed across different content formats to become the popular Netflix series of the same name.
Jeong Dahee discussed her on-site installation during her talk with Kim Haery, titled “Drawing Poetry: Metaphors in Jeong Dahee’s Films”. Her installation ‘Paper, Light, Ghost’ transformed a library space into a room of drawings, playing with light and shadow.
Guests were also treated to live music by DJ Chae, DJ Jesse You and DJ Gothicc during the afterparties on both days of Prada Mode Seoul to end the private event.
