Sunglass-Proof Your Makeup This Summer
Recently, celebrity makeup artist, Ms Janine Holmes shared the secret she often uses to "save" her clients from eyeglass marks in a TikTok video. In the first few seconds of the video, Janine shared a funny story: "This is my biggest stress of being a celebrity makeup artist. I do a pretty, gorgeous makeup look on Demi Lovato, and then they put on sunglasses."
She is talking about the mark that is left behind on the sides of the nose every time "glasses" girls (whether it's sunglasses or glasses) put on makeup. Maybe it comes from living habits to protect your eyes from strong light, or you simply want to wear expensive new glasses that you can't help but use on top of your makeup. This is one of the most common problems, and luckily makeup artists have the answer to your concern.
As Janine shares, what you need to conquer your sunglasses marks is simply the products that any makeup bag will have, like colourless eye primer, concealer, powder, setting spray and a makeup sponge.
First, you apply a little eye primer on both sides of the nose, right at the area that will come into contact with the lens pad, and then apply a layer of concealer right there. The use of eye primer will help the concealer to be better fixed to the skin. Next, use a makeup sponge that has been sufficiently moistened with foundation spray, absorb a layer of powder evenly and start baking the skin around your nose bridge. Let the powder "soak" on the skin for 3-5 minutes to absorb all the oil and fix the concealer. After that, you just need to take a brush to lightly brush the remaining powder to completely lock the foundation on the skin around your nose bridge and effectively prevent the mark from your sunglasses from appearing during activities.
In addition, to be effective, Janine also revealed one more secret that you should use on your glasses. Use a little alcohol (or maybe hand sanitizer) to wipe away any remaining dirt, dust, or grease on the glass gasket. Then, put a thin layer of powder on it to make sure neither the glasses nor the makeup will "invade" each other throughout the day, no matter how many times you sweat or remove/re-wear your glasses.
Although it will take you a bit more time, this can be a useful life saver for summer days.
