Joining the glamorous ranks of Carmen Kass and Charlize Theron, two former faces of the iconic perfume, Rihanna has been appointed the face of Dior J'Adore, heralding a bold new look for the famous fragrance. The "Umbrella" singer's move into the illustrious role marks the first new face in over 20 years, signaling a historic occasion in both the history of the legendary Maison and the singer herself.

In a Maria Grazia Chiuri-made golden gown and gilded necklace, modeled after the design of the original perfume bottle, Rihanna appears as a radiant embodiment of sheer elegance, graceful femininity, and ethereal beauty, carrying on the emblematic legacy of the J'Adore woman and her status as the universal muse.

The pop icon has remained an ambassador and close friend of the Maison since 2015, but with her new image, she has risen to unimaginable levels of stardom. The news of Rihanna's ascension to the role first broke in June 2024, but with the release of the stunning campaign imagery in late August 2024, the public gained a true glimpse at the revitalized perfume.

“The scent that I have known and loved for so long means so much to women,” Rihanna said in a statement to WWD in June 2024. “I am especially looking forward to joining this adventure and contributing to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”

Although the fragrance's campaign may appear different, longtime fans of the fresh floral perfume can rest assured that Dior J'Adore still retains all of the brilliant notes of jasmine, lily of the valley, and tuberose with refreshing hints of melon, pear, and mandarin orange. Originally crafted by Canlice Becker back in the '90s, Dior J'Adore was meant to embody pure liquid gold from day one, and thanks to master perfumer Francis Kurkdjian's subtle but palpable additions to the formula in recent years, the fragrance still embodies all of the complexities of feminity originally distilled in the iconic bottle, just like its brand new face, Rihanna.
