James Reid Dishes All Things Beauty
We caught up with the singer-songwriter for the launch of Marc Jacobs' Perfect EDT. Here, he shares his thoughts on the fragrance, his beauty essentials, and his brand new single – titled 'So Fire'
What do you like best about Marc Jacobs’ Perfect EDT?
I love that the scent is unisex, especially with notes of pink peppercorn and cedar wood. Also, the fragrance celebrates embracing our perfect imperfections. Finding strength in what makes me different and the lessons learned from scars is how I made it this far in my career. I’m perfect as I am, a work in progress.
What notes do you tend to go for when picking out a scent?
I lean towards earthy, woody and fresh scents, something that feels natural and light because I live in the tropics.
What are three beauty essentials that you cannot live without?
I live by a healthy diet and believe it or not, it does make your skin glow. When I eat healthily, I feel good as well. And of course, I can’t go a day without fragrance so I can smell fresh and good. Thirdly, my purple shampoo because my hair is bleached and I have to maintain my hair colour to keep it blonde.
You just released your new single – titled ‘So Fire’. What can fans expect from the song?
‘So Fire’ is a fun track with some disco vibes! There are interesting collaborations coming up for this song, so stay tuned for more sneak peeks on my Instagram.
Besides the single, what else do you have planned for the coming year?
I hope to explore more of Southeast Asia and connect with more artists in the region. My label has been growing a lot in the past couple of years with new artists, and we have some exciting plans for new music, performances and even series in the near future. I also plan to come to Singapore more and look forward to partnering with local artists.
