What does one associate most with bespoke perfumery? For us, it’s the gift of individuality. A scent is something that is inherently personal, and a customised fragrance goes even further to resonate with the wearer’s soul.

Although personalised scents have gained popularity in recent years, the idea is far from new. Since it was established in 1975, French haute parfumerie Henry Jacques has built a legacy around this concept. The Maison coins the experience of creating a personalised scent “Sur-Mesure” — a four to six-month process that is a result of detailed consults to determine wearers’ scent preferences and create the perfect fragrance.

Crafted to evoke emotions both old and new, the house’s fragrances are products of savoir-faire. With a workshop in France specialising in handmade production, Henry Jacques adopts age-old craftsmanship and uses precious natural components to weave traditional elements into modern-day fragrances.

Recently, the Maison added a new feather in its cap: The ‘In All Intimacy’ collection, created in collaboration with tennis great, Rafael Nadal, and his wife, Maria Perello. Experiencing Sur-Mesure for themselves, the couple entrusted Henry Jacques to design three fragrances: Maria Perello, Rafael Nadal N° 1, and Rafael Nadal N° 2 — each perfume embodying scent profiles symbolic to Nadal and Perello’s personal tastes.

“Our encounter was about sharing emotions with great mutual trust, and above all a desire to share a beautiful story and reflection of life that could be inspiring for many. And that is what perfume is all about,” says Anne-Lise Cremona, CEO of Henry Jacques.
