Heaven Scent: Versace's New Luxury Fragrances

There were a few naysayers who thought Versace would lose its lustre following the acquisition last year, but they couldn’t be more wrong. The Italian brand has gone from strength to strength, and its latest venture looks set to be yet another blockbuster. The heritage house has just dropped a new range of luxury perfumes, named Atelier Versace Fragrances to reflect the same exceptional craftsmanship of its haute couture approach.

The first launch in the new line features 6 upscale unisex scents centred on floral, fruity, and woody elements, with each perfume celebrating a specific ingredient. Cédrat de Diamante focuses on the zest of Italian lemon, enlivened by pink grapefruit, cedarwood, and vetiver. Éclat de Rose puts a twist on classic florals with Moroccan Rose Centifolia, complemented by musky Ambrox. Jasmine flowers from India evoke the sultriness of a tropical paradise in Jasmin au Soleil, contrasted with citrus and beeswax.

Sweet but not sugary, Figue Blanche blends fresh figs, mandarins, bergamot, and neroli. Santal Boisé gives a kick with spicy sandalwood and smoky cypriol, enriched by gurjun and saffron. Vanille Rouge unfurls smoothly in notes of praline and rose, like a rich and creamy gelato on the tongue.

The fragrances are housed in handmade glass flacons, which come in different shades of colour according to the intensity of the perfume inside. It wouldn't be Versace without some gold, and as such each bottle is crowned with the signature Medusa head in gilded metal, while the boxes are embellished by hand with a gold-tone Meandros border and brand logo.
