With the recent release of Drew Barrymore’s ‘Charlie's Angels’ inspired eyeshadow palette, we take a look at some of our all-time favourite pop culture palettes to hit stores.

Never underestimate the power of pop culture. The resounding success of films and shows like ‘Harry Potter’, Marvel films, and 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' has seen an influx in merchandise tailored to fans of the media. Besides your typical box set and poster, merch now comes in the form of clothing, accessories (see Pandora’s popular ‘Harry Potter’ collection), beauty products, and more.

And with the recent unveiling and release of FLOWER Beauty by Drew’s – otherwise known as Drew Barrymore’s beauty love child – ‘Charlie’s Angels’ eyeshadow palette, we’ve decided to take a look at some of our favourite pop culture-inspired palettes that have taken the beauty world by storm.

FLOWER Beauty by Drew x 'Charlie's Angels'

Last week, Drew Barrymore took to Instagram to post a cheeky teaser video for her latest release under FLOWER Beauty by Drew. The product? An exclusive DVD-inspired ‘Charlie’s Angels’ eyeshadow palette. Featuring 8 highly pigmented and crease-free neutral shades that Barrymore’s character Dylan would love, this product is sure to be the go-to everyday palette for Angels everywhere. Each shade is also named after a reference in the film – with our favourite being “Good Morning Charlie,” of course.

Storybook Palette x 'Harry Potter'

By far one of the most versatile pop culture palettes is the ‘Harry Potter’ Wizardry and Witchcraft Eyeshadow Storybook Palette by Storybook Cosmetics – a beauty brand known for their various pop culture palettes. Depicting the facade of a hardcover book reminiscent of the ones we read growing up, this magical palette contains 12 pigmented matte, metallic, and pearl eyeshadows in shades named ‘Sorcerer’, ‘Potions’, ‘Merlin’, and more Potter-related references.

NYX x 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'

Back in its last season of filming, NYX teamed up with Netflix’s ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ to create a hefty 30-shade eyeshadow palette for witches around the world. Made to look like a spellbook, the palette also came with two blushes and a highlighter to help fans create gorgeous looks. The cast at Sabrina also ran an auction in exchange for a fully signed palette by actors – Michelle Gomez, Miranda Otto, Kiernan Shipka, Ross Lynch, Gavin Leatherwood, and more.

Urban Decay x Marvel's 'Eternals'

Last year, Urban Decay released a collection in partnership with Marvel’s ‘Eternals’. The 3D palette features 15 shimmery shades to help users feel like Eternals themselves once worn. With a bold blend of metallic gold-infused shades, pearl-packed mattes, and pigmented shimmers, the palette has become one of our favourites in 2021 – and even now. Spotted getting her own palette was Lia McHugh, who played Sprite in the film.

ColourPop x Disney's Princesses

Feel like a princess with ColourPop’s Midnight Masquerade Eyeshadow Palette. The palette comes as part of a collection with highlighter, blush, and lip products, and features 15 pan shadows inspired by Disney’s princesses among the likes of Cinderella, Ariel, Esmeralda, Belle, Aurora, and more. If you’re planning to pop off for a ball any time soon, this is the palette for you.

Storybook Cosmetics x 'Mean Girls'

As our girl, Gretchen Wieners would say – “That is so fetch!” Like the ‘Harry Potter’ palette previously mentioned, Storybook Cosmetics has come up with a similar concept for their ‘Mean Girls’ one. The ‘Mean Girls’ Burn Book Storybook Palette comes with 12 matte, shimmer, and pearl shadows to make any girl jealous of the looks you’d be able to create with them. As always, the shades are named after various references throughout the film – some being ‘Wednesday’ – in pink, of course, ‘October 3rd’, and our favourite – ‘She Doesn’t Even Go Here’.
