Once again, the eyes take centre stage at the runway. – but this time, in absence of spacecrafts, intergalactic-inspired beauty looks or Cleopatra-esque cat-eyes.

In true Chanel style, the house took creative twist towards the eye makeup for its Fall/Winter 2017 Haute Couture runway show by emulating a multicoloured water-stained glass effect. The look embodies Karl Lagerfeld's vision of the show which he describes as "the revived Parisian woman". And at the same time, it echoes the fashion powerhouse's take on haute couture which he defines as, "all about craftmanship".

Read on for a how-to on recreating the looks straight from the runway.

The Impeccable Complexion

Like how painters condition their brushes and mix up their watercolours before they create their masterpiece, the same goes for makeup artistes, who prepare their client's skin before their apply the base.

For smooth application of the base, hydrate the skin with the Hydra Beauty Micro Gel Yeux, Hydra Beauty Micro Serum and the La Solution 10 De Chanel. In circular motions, disperse the product all over the face and ensure that it is absorbed thoroughly into the skin.

To achieve that timeless radiant finish, buff the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation into the skin with the Les Pinceaux De Chanel Retractable Foundation Brush.

Using the Les Pinceaux De Chanel Retractable Dual-Tip Concealer Brush, set and brighten the undereyes with the biege-coloured powder from the La Palette Essentielle (2017 Fall/Winter Makeup Collection Travel Diary)

Framing Features

The importance of brows in any look can never be overstated – it is the key to giving balance to your visage. With minimal pressure, lightly fill in the brows using the Stylo Sourcils Waterproof for a fuller-looking effect. Then tame it with the Le Gel Sourcils for a more refined and polished look.

While this multi-hued eye makeup seems almost impossible to execute, fret not. We're here to break it down for you.

First and foremost, blend the Ombre Premiere in Blue Jean N°16 on the lower lashline with the Les Pinceaux De Chanel Retractable Dual-Tip Eyeshadow Brush.

Work Ombre Premiere Powder in Verde N°18 into the crease for the illusion of deeper-set eyes.

Smear Ombre Premiere Powder in Désert Rouge N°36 all over the empty space of the lids.

On the upper crease, sweep Ombre Premiere Powder in Poudre d'Or N°34 in the inner part of the brow.

Then, combine the same colour with Ombre Premiere Powder in Désert Rouge N°36 to create a sunset orange colour and blend it at the outer part of the brow.

Dot the Rouge Allure Luminous Lip Colour in 172 Rouge Rebelle in the inner corner of the eyes to add intensity.

To kick it up a notch, line the outer half of the lower lashline with the Ombre Premiere Cream in Scintillance N°804

Apply generous voluminising coats of Le Volume De Chanel in Noir N°10 mascara to finish off the eye makeup.

Keeping It Glowy

Sweep the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Powder all over the face, targetting greasier regions of the complexion such as the T-zone and the chin. This helps give your skin a touch of luminosity while lengthening the longevity of your makeup.

Nudes For Days

Let the eyes do all the talking and tone down your the lips. Glide the Rouge Coco in Daylight N°474 all over your pout to give it a healthy sheen of nudey-pink.

Complement the lip colour with the Le Vernis Longue Tenue in Ballerina N°167, a light pastel pink that gives the nails an "in the pink of health" look. To ensure that the nail colour does not budge, apply a coat of the La Base before and a coat of the Le Gel Coat after the polish.
