Get The Look: Backstage Beauty at Chanel FW17
There was little space for subtle and natural at Chanel's astronomical Fall-Winter 2017 Ready-To-Wear show. Inspired by all things intergalactic, this season is all about graphic eye makeup, splashes of silver shadow, and doll-like false eyelashes. Read on for a how-to on recreating the looks straight from the runway.
Prepped & Primed
To achieve a flawless complexion, prime your skin with the Hydra Beauty Micro Gel Yeux, to continuously hydrate and regenerate the eye area, and the La Solution 10 De Chanel, to balance out the complexion and moisturise the skin.
The Perfect Canvas
Then, use the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Fluid Foundation to give the skin a layer of luminosity and dewiness. Apply the Éclat Lumière to dark circles, fine lines, the hollow of the chin and high points of the face on top of the foundation to bring radiance to the face. Then, for added perfection, apply the Correcteur Perfection Concealer, which contains soft-focus pigments and a light-to-medium coverage, to brighten the appearance of dark areas and correct any imperfections. Finally, enhance the radiance of the skin by using Le Blanc De Chanel to add touches of radiance to key facial areas like the forehead, cheekbones and the chin.
Shaping The Frame
The eyebrows are incredibly important for bringing dimension to the face. With the Le Gel Sourcils from the 2017 Eyes Collection, fill in the brows using soft, feathery, hair-like strokes to create the illusion of hairs and added thickness while shaping and defining the brows.
Cutting The Crease
The two standout features of this beauty look are the shimmering eyes and cut-crease black liner. To achieve this, apply Ombre Premiere Titane N°38 all over the lid up to the brow bone for a silvery and shimmery finish, then smoke out the lash line with Ombre Premiere Noir Satin N°26 to give the eyes a more depth. With the Calligraphie De Chanel Hyperblack N°65, line the eyes above the crease to give the illusion of deeper set eyes. Finally, amp up the lashes with the Le Volume De Chanel Noir N°10, to give the lashes more volume.
Contoured To Perfection
Using Joues Contraste Elégance N°370 from the 2017 Spring-Summer Makeup Collection Coco Codes, contour the cheekbones to bring more definition and add a natural flush to the skin.
A Pop of Colour
Give your lips a pop of colour by using the Le Rouge Crayon De Couleur Rose Violine N°2, a nude rosy beige to line and fill in the lips. It delivers a satiny shine to the give the appearance of moisturised and nourished lips.
